It’s hard to feel the Aim High ‘magic’ when it’s the middle of winter. Luckily, Aim High’s ice skating events remind students that, believe it or not, summer isn’t too far off.
On December 4, Aim High hosted its annual East Bay Ice Skating Party for students, recent graduates, and their families. They spent the Friday evening skating, eating pizza, and catching up at the Oakland Ice Center.
The popular event was hosted by East Bay Regional Program Manager Suzy Garren and drew in 57 students plus their guests. Altogether, 121 members of the Aim High community were circling the rink, laughing, falling, and even getting down to the ‘Electric Slide.’
Hosting mid-year events, such as the ice skating party, helps keep Aim High on the radar of students and families. “It’s is a great opportunity for Aim High students to reunite during the academic year,” said Suzy. “We can continue building community between students, teachers, and families.”
Here are pictures from the evening.
The Aim High application for 2016 is now live, meaning summer isn’t too far off. Thanks to the the East Bay event, students can remember to just keep skating until the program starts.
