Aim High is very proud to announce the launch of our first rural campus in Tahoe/Truckee at Kings Beach Elementary School. In its inaugural year, Tahoe/Truckee Aim High will be offered to underserved middle school students from Tahoe City, Truckee and Kings Beach. Aim High will work closely with the school district, local educators and the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe to recruit students, hire teachers and implement our high-quality summer enrichment program with an emphasis on academic and leadership skills. Generous donations from individual donors and local community foundations will ensure the TTAH program is tuition-free and provides transportation and healthy lunches.
A big shout-out goes out to Aim High Board member Al Adams, who first conceived the idea to create a rural Aim High campus in Tahoe/Truckee two and a half years ago, and spearheaded the fundraising efforts to jump-start the project. Great job, Al! We can’t wait to see the Aim High Magic in Tahoe/Truckee this summer!
