Aim High’s Aspiring Teacher Program strengthens and expands the pathways to the field of education for aspiring teachers of color. Our research-backed programming supports pre-credential Aim High summer educators, from high school students to teachers, to help lower the barriers to the teaching profession that first-generation students and teachers of color face.
Aim High provides professional development opportunities, grounded in culturally-responsive practices, to support the growth of aspiring educators.
We build and maintain partnerships with post-secondary institutions, alternative credentialing programs, and local districts to support: increased attainment of teaching credentials and positions for aspiring teachers, particularly from historically underrepresented or marginalized communities; and Aim High summer teacher recruitment.
We create a diverse pipeline of skilled teachers and educational leaders committed to equity and social change
Since 1986, Aim High has supported over 4,000 educators and the Aspiring Teacher Program will create opportunities for aspiring educators.
