Aim High Site Director, Laney Corda, received the prestigious Mayor’s 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year Award on May 9 during a Giants Pre-Game Homeplate Ceremony at AT&T Park. As part of Teacher Appreciation Month, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee recognized teachers and principals in the San Francisco Unified School District for their commitment to improving the lives of youth through education. The annual award honors educators at the preschool, elementary, middle, and high school level for their outstanding work in the classroom and city. Awardees were nominated by colleagues, students, and their parents.
Laney who has co-led our Western Addition campus for the past four years, teaches sixth grade at James Lick Middle School during the school year. She has worked in SFUSD for more than seven years. This past fall, she helped emcee our 2015 Generations Gala. We are thrilled and honored to have Laney as a leader in the Aim High community.
