We are thrilled to announce that Aim High recently received a $100,000 grant from the Yelp Foundation. They generously awarded $1.2 million in grants to 14 nonprofits across the nation that best embody their mission of supporting access to information, education, local economic development, and freedom of expression. Aim High is one of only four Bay Area organizations that was honored, including KIPP Bay Area, 826 National, and Kiva Zip.
The Yelp Foundation has looked to its employees for help in identifying 501(c)(3) organizations whose work would flourish with extra funding. Yelp employees championed highly recommended nonprofits and explained to the Foundation board how the grant money would make an impact. Through an extensive selection process, the board decided which organizations to advance. Overall, 100 organizations were considered and 40% of Yelp employees voted before the Foundation board arrived at a final decision.
We are honored to have been chosen and look forward to putting this grant to good use. This grant will allow us to serve more students and provide them with a rigorous, fun, and transformational summer learning experience. We are very grateful for our extended community of supporters and champions. We couldn’t do it without you.
