COVID-19 Policies & Frequently Asked Questions

In order to prioritize the health and safety of our students, staff, and communities, Aim High will comply with county and public health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at our summer campuses. Students and staff will be asked to support these efforts through established best practices. Aim High must also comply with rules and regulations established by our host school site, which means some requirements may vary by site, depending on the expectations of the host school or district.

At Aim High, we are committed to doing everything we can to provide a safe, healthy, and engaging summer program.

Q: Will my child need to wear a mask at Aim High?

A. Aim High will monitor school/district/county guidelines on mask-wearing and communicate these expectations to staff and families in advance of programming. As of now, masks are optional for all students, and Aim High will provide masks for students who would like them. Mask protocol is subject to change and will be updated and communicated to families based on current health recommendations and host school expectations.

Q: What happens if my student tests positive for COVID-19?

A. If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, you must inform your Site Directors immediately. Your child must quarantine for 5 days before returning to Aim High. They may return after five days if they are symptom free and have tested negative for COVID-19. After they return to Aim High, they must continue to wear a mask for the next five days.

Q: What happens if another student or a staff member at Aim High tests positive for COVID-19?

A. If a student has been deemed a close contact to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, Aim High will notify the student’s family via a Talking Points text message. Any student determined to be a close contact who is not symptomatic can continue attending Aim High. Any student determined to be a close contact and is symptomatic would need to provide Aim High with a negative Antigen test before returning to Aim High if they are fully vaccinated and if not, they would need to isolate for 5 days before returning to Aim High.

Q: If my student needs to stay home due to contracting COVID-19, will they be exempt from the allowed 3 days of excused absences?

A. Students who test positive for COVID-19 and are vaccinated will be expected to remain at home and provide a negative COVID-19 Antigen test after being symptom free for 24 hours in order to return to Aim High. Those days will be counted as excused absences and not counted towards the allotted 3 days.

Q: Will my student be required to be vaccinated to attend Aim High?

A. Students who attend the San Rafael (Marin Academy) campus are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to attend. All other students are NOT required to be vaccinated to attend. Fully vaccinated means that more than 2 weeks have passed since the student received their second dose of the vaccine. If your child is enrolled at the San Rafael campus, Aim High will notify you about submitting and verifying proof of vaccination, which will be due by June 16th, 2022.

Q: Will staff be vaccinated?

A: All Aim High staff must provide proof of vaccination in order to accept their employment at Aim High before our first day of program. Staff members are able to request an exemption and if their exemption is granted, they must be tested for COVID-19 twice a week and wear a mask at all times while at Aim High.

Q. Will visitors need to show proof of vaccination?

A: If a visitor is only briefly on campus, they do not need to show proof of vaccination, but they must wear a mask at all times while on campus. If a visitor will be on campus for a prolonged period of time and will have interaction with multiple students, they must show proof of vaccination.
